Brychan

The founder member of one of Wales. best loved bands, the now defunct, Jess, Brychan has released four solo albums to date, including his latest offering .Real in Between.. All have found increasing success in Italy! Brychan first burst onto the Welsh rock scene with Jess back in 1988 at the National Eisteddfod in Newport, Gwent. After seven eventful years together, that included working with The Alarm.s Mike Peters, touring extensively throughout Europe, and almost signing a deal with Rhythm King Records who, at the time, were home to such notables as Betty Boo, S.Express and Echobelly, Jess finally split in 1995.

After Jess, Brychan decided to pursue a career in television, work on solo projects, and explore a new musical project he christened U4Ria. While Brychan.s career was progressing in Wales, Jess.s television session for Italian television's .Segniali di Fumo. was being repeated several times on national television, and the band, even though they no longer existed, were beginning to build quite a profile. Jess.s former Italian agent, Lorenzo Bedini, was quick to recognize this and pressured Brychan to return to Italy and tour as a solo act.

This tour was the catalyst that launched Brychan.s solo career, and he decided to record his first solo album on the back of the tour.s success. Between then and now, he.s released a further three albums, toured extensively, and shared stages with the Stereophonics, The Levellers, and Mike Peters, US jazz/folk songwriter, Eric Wood, US guitarist Randy Bernsen (Jaco Pastorius, Joe Zawinul, and Herbie Hancock).

2004 has continued in a similar vein and Brychan's already completed two Italian tours, and played numerous dates around the UK, including one at Cardiff City Hall where he played to over one hundred heads of state. Looking ahead to the summer, Brychan aims to continue to play live when he'll be appearing at several festivals, including Glastonbury.
