These two great guitarists have joined up for a 22 date tour, including this gig at The Prom, which is the only one where they will be using a rhythm section: Mike Hoddinnot, drums. and Jerry Soffe, bass.
The tour, which is called 'Kule 2 B Blue' originated when the two met and played the acoustic stage at last year's 'Trowbridge Festival'
Alamo Leal is well known, not only to regular Prom goers, but, having built a solid reputation with his regular live performances, both at home and abroad, from audience and press alike, gained critical acclaim for his recorded output, and respect from fellow musicians, Alamo has become an international force to be reckoned with.
Michael Chapman, the "Fully Qualified Survivor" . I wonder if he tires of that phrase! Probably not, after all if you recorded an album in 1968 that was still selling today, having been released 9 times, would you ? Anyway, Michael is one of this countries finest exponent's of the acoustic guitar, and a truly gifted songwriter with a rough but soothing, warm slur of a voice, like a good quality Bourbon. If you've never heard him it really is your loss. Having compared Michael's voice to my favourite tipple, his latest album "Americana" is all instrumental, but a total joy nonetheless, and will doubtless send you on the trail of earlier works.
This gig is going to be a real treat.
