Danielle and Company

Danielle and Company

Danielle trained at the Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff then at the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance, London. She began writing her own stuff 15 years ago, coming close to landing recording deals a couple of times, but then got side tracked into the fitness industry, culminating in me winning the 1994 Miss Fitness UK title (what?).

After retreating for a while, unbelievably, she then found herself appearing as Doris Day on 'Stars in their Eyes' (does it get any worse!) Appearing as Doris, wasn't such a bad idea though, because it made her realise how important her music is and how much she needed to get back to it. So here she is once more, but this time round, the songs are better and the identity is stronger.

Danielle & Company are:-

Danielle - vocals and acoustic guitar, influences cover many styles, but mainly contemporary females like Julia Fordham, Eddie Reader, Basia, Mary Black, sometimes her musical theatre background comes in with the odd big number like 'The man that got away' but the songs are rhythmic and melodic, sometimes with a dark edge and melancholic feel.
Jonathan Lecun - nylon string acoustic, with an evocatively mellow flavour. Influences include Joe Pass, Antonio Carlos Jobin, and Brazilian styles generally.
Steve Wilfred - percussion and acoustic guitar, extremely versatile player, with a passion for Latin beats, African rhythms and soft soul. Influences include Tito Puente, Raul Rekow & Armanda Perazza.
